Quinlan Vos was a maverick within the
Jedi Order and garnered a reputation for bending the rules. He was renowned for his retrocognition—perceiving others' memories when touching objects they had contacted. Due to this ability, Vos was an expert tracker. Many of his missions took him into the criminal underworld. Quinlan Vos was based on a background character who appeared in the streets of Mos Espa in the 1999 film
Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. There, he saw a young Anakin Skywalker at least once.
